Beautiful beaches and lush pine forests.

The Sporades are located at the northwest Aegean Sea. Their name means ‘those scattered’. They consist of 24 islands, 4 of which permanently inhabited (Skiathos, Skópelos, Alonissos and Skyros). They are known for their beautiful beaches, rich vegetation and turquoise waters. Skiathos, which is in the heart of the archipelago, is the most popular amongst visitors. It has over 60 beaches, and is known as a party island. On the other hand, the more unspoiled Skópelos has become a film tourism destination as a shooting scene for the popular musical Mamma Mia.

Skiathos, Skopelos, and Alonissos are accessible by Ferry from Volos and Agios Constantinos, while Skyros by Ferry from Kymi, Evia. There are domestic flights from Athens and Thessaloniki.
